New to special – FREE!

This programme is for teachers and for ECTs who are in their first year working in a special school or setting, where a bespoke skill set is required.

Aims:

  • To share knowledge, learning experiences and encourage reflective practice.
  • To engage in professional dialogue with other teachers.
  • To promote confidence and resilience in the classroom and wider school community.
  • ECTs will build on their ITT year, others new to special will develop skills and knowledge relevant to their setting.

We are delivering this programme in three locations across the region – Somerset , Bristol /North Somerset and South Glos / BANES but participants are welcome to join any group.

Delivered by expert leaders from Special School settings, the programme consists of:
2 x Face to face sessions (half days)
4 x virtual CPD Sessions (twilight)

3 x peer visits to other schools (half day)
