Next term, the Five Counties Teaching School Hubs Alliance is hosting a free conference for anyone involved in mentoring teachers who are part of Initial Teacher Training or Early Career Teacher programmes. The conference will take place on 5th June in Taunton and again on 6th June in Bristol. Please click on the relevant link below to reserve your FREE place!
We are delighted to announce a brilliant and highly regarded keynote speaker who will be joining us for the day:
Haili Hughes
- Haili was an English teacher, middle and senior leader in secondary schools for 15 years. She is now a Director of Education at IRIS Connect – a video professional development company for teachers and a Principal Lecturer in mentoring and professional development at the University of Sunderland, where she leads 1200 mentors. In addition, she works as an ITT Quality Associate for England’s education government body, the Department of Education. She is one of the few educators in the UK who facilitates the Early Career Framework, trains new teachers and the National Professional Qualifications for teachers, as well as marking them for Teach First. She speaks in 150 schools a year as an educational consultant and has written 5 bestselling books with 8 more on the way.
The aims of this event are for participants to hear expert input, share and discuss mentoring approaches, understand the new ITT criteria for 2024 and changes for schools, learn about the future merging of the Core Content from initial teacher training and the Early Career Frameworks for ECTs into the new ITTECF. it will be a fantastic opportunity to share practice, network with other mentors and to find out about cutting edge approaches to mentoring to support you in your important role back in school.
