  • This 2 hour afternoon session will be delivered in person by a trained and experienced Bell Foundation Lead Practitioner (BFLP).
  • This session explores some of the challenges commonly faced by learners who are newly arrived and in particular, those who are new to English.
  • In this highly interactive course, practitioners will become familiar with strategies, ideas and resources that promote social, academic and linguistic inclusion for newly arrived learners.

The Bell Foundation are the UK’s leading body supporting the training and development of school staff in order to improve outcomes of pupils who use EAL. The Five Counties Teaching School Hubs Alliance have been designated as the South West’s Bell Foundation Centre of Expertise and have a number of trained Bell Foundation Lead Practitioners who are experts in their field. They are able to support schools and trusts to develop their provision for pupils who use EAL and to run online and face training through the Teaching School Hub.
