New to Primary Subject Leadership
- Are you new to leading a subject in a primary school?
- Are you about to have responsibility of leading a curriculum area across your school?
- Are you confused about what the expectations and what you need to do?
Help is on your way!
Starting in the autumn, this online programme has been designed for teachers taking on a curriculum area / subject leadership role for the first time in a primary school setting. This programme is particularly suitable for ECT2s or post ECTs taking on a leadership role for the first time.
The course aims to develop the vision for your subject of responsibility, along with the skills and understanding to lead others.
We look at the practical skills you will need and build on the basics of leading a subject and leading others to give a new leader skills and resources to get going with confidence.
We will be exploring some of the key skills and attributes that a curriculum leader in a primary school should have, explore what being a subject leader is all about and offer practical ideas of how to lead, monitor, evaluate and develop your subject – and yourself!
The course will consist of 3 x 90min after school online sessions. You will need to attend all three twilight sessions in the series. All sessions run from 3:45pm – 5:15pm.
