New to Special Programme – Book Now!

This programme is for teachers and ECTs who are working in a special school or setting, where a bespoke skill set is required. It is run jointly by Somerset’s SPTS and the Five Counties Teaching School Hubs Alliance / Five Counties for Schools

Cost of full programme – £195 and is free for Somerset SEN.SE schools

Aims:

• To share knowledge, learning experiences and encourage reflective practice.
• To engage in professional dialogue with other teachers.
• To promote confidence and resilience in the classroom and wider school community.
• ECTs will build on their ITT year, others new to special will develop skills and knowledge relevant to their setting.

We are delivering this programme across two locations – Somerset and Bristol but participants are welcome to join either group.

The programme consists of two half day face to face events and four virtual twilight sessions alongside the Somerset group.

Delegates are encouraged to arrange reciprocal peer visits to a special school setting with someone else on the course if they can. Delegates won’t be disadvantaged if they do not work in a special setting or cannot offer a visit.
