Pedagogy Essentials programme for all 2024-25

These twilight sessions targeting colleagues who teach whole classes, cover classes, support teaching and regularly teach larger groups of children in their schools. It is suitable for those in primary and secondary phases. In roles such as cover supervisors, HLTAs and teachers (both qualified and unqualified). We will explore the what, why and how of core pedagogical practices that will support the development of classroom practice.

This interactive and practical programme will consist of 6 x 60 min online twilight sessions which will run from 3.45pm – 4.45pm. You will be expected to attend all six sessions in the series.

Sessions will be a balance of current theory and practical application and will cover:

• Session 1 – Explaining – 26th November 2024
• Session 2 – Modelling – 12th December 2024
• Session 3 – Checking Understanding – 22nd January 2025
• Session 4 – Practice – 26th March 2025
• Session 5 – Feedback – 14th May 2025
• Session 6 –Adaptation – 25th June 2025
